Apparently 1 in 5 parents do.
If my kids ever misbehaved in the car, I used to just stop abruptly on the side of the road without warning, get out and sit in the gutter.
Finally one would poke their head out and ask when I was getting back in to drive the car and I would ignore them for a bit. And then without explanation get back in and continue the drive.
It didn't take long before they got the message lol.

LOL because I know a few parents that have done that ๐

That is so appalling and disgusting.
She should have waited at least 10 minutes before returning! What a wimp LOL

Never thought of drugging them. I used to just stop, and tell them I will leave them there and they can walk unless they stop fighting. That usually worked. Only once I actually chucked one out and drove off (and waited behind the sharp bend 100yards ahead), he never behaved as badly after that.

Did you drug your kids on long road trips?
Nah never needed to - I always found duct tape and gags were quite sufficient.

I can remember how shocked I was years ago when another mum told me she used phergen to "help" her kids sleep (let alone on long trips)! Why would you?
When we did long trips ( and we did quite a few) there were singalongs, I Spy games, Spotto, 20 questions, etc etc. There was only one time when we actually stopped the car and put a child out ( on a quiet forest road). But it back fired, when we went back for her we had to practically drag her back into the car because she was "going to walk home like you said" ( yep - she was stubborn pig headed strong willed)
I was told to give it to my eldest son when he had recurrent ear infections at about age 5, but it made my normally very active boy go absolutely troppo - it was scarey to watch. I never tried it with any of my 3 other children.

B3 I only ever gave my youngest son that stuff and that is because he was showing off to the girl on the Jungle Gym and broke his arm.
After him and I having no sleep for two night I went to the chemist and got it.
I cant take any thing like that my self works the opposite on me and keeps me awake

Rose, I am pretty much the same - I can't take any sort of cold and flu medication as the psuedo-ephedrine acts like speed on me and I "go troppo"!!

Me to, at least it gets the house work done really quick ๐
