I have a Siemens Fully intergrated machine which is top of the line Bosch. It is wonderfully quiet, cleans well and can move shelves around etc.
Have had it a few years now but touch wood if anything was to happen to it I would replace with the same.
It wasn't cheap but you pay for what you get.

Yes, they're pretty good Freaky. We are the same, only turn it on when it's full and it's a good place to hide dirty dishes till then lol. I think probably the newer the model the less energy they use as with all appliances. It frees up our lives anyway, who wants to stand at a kitchen sink? Not us
haha, me too. I hate doing dishes.

I think i will do the same as i did with my clothes dryer, which is top of the line Bosch, told hubby I was going to get it, explained how expensive it was but how energy efficient blah , blah, was pretty sure he hadn't listened to a word..........
I couldn't stop laughing when a few days later I asked him to pop into town to pick it - he had agreed with everything I had said without listening to a word.
and just in case anyone is going to comment - i only use the dryer when it's raining, for towels and bed linen - got sick of all the birds pooping on my sheets and i like my towels fluffy.

Don't have or never did have a dishwasher.
Many years ago, washing/drying up was a together-job with one of my kids each night. Their choice of which side of the sink.
I taught them that washing up was not just dishes, etc. but the stove top, benchtop, boards, etc. and sweeping the floor.
It was a time of reflection of that day's goings-on. We discussed our day's tasks/lessons and sorted out some niggly problems they may have had. I honestly miss that time now.

that's nice lloyds, reminds me of when i was a kid and my brother and i had to do the dishes together every night, taking turns washing and drying - only thing was, whoever had the drying turn the other would pour water over the dishes, just to make sure they had to dry them.
