Do snakes change their mind

halfway through a meal?

I have a rather second hand looking cockatiel in the aviary this morning. At first I thought she might have taken a dunk in the water dish but she's not wet. All her feathers are kinda stuck down around her head and upper part of her body, she has some seed stuck to her chest too. She seems to be in shock too, kinda dazed and breathing a tad hard. It sort of looks to me like the top half of  her has been slobbered on.

I have mice living in the cage (pesky varmints) and hubby has seen a few snakes in the past fortnight.

Do you think a snake may have tried to snack on her then spat her back out?

Oh, your poor birdy skwerl !

It sounds like it, doesn't it..but I don't know if snakes have a reverse?  Maybe if they do, the snake realised the bird was too big?

They have big chompers though, don't they ?

Smiley Sad  Poor thing.

I would n't think they'd change their minds once they've started Pimpy but maybe Soul is right about size??. I hope she's OK, you'd better keep a close watch on her today

there was a video on FB of a snake regurgitaing a dog. They reckon if the snake needs to make an escape in a hurry they can upchuck their dinner. I don't know if this is right or not.

Poor birdy, I only got her a week ago as a mate for my widower PrettyBoy.

My daughter used to have pet snakes (eww) years ago and she says snakes will always kill

before they try to eat.   They don't want their prey to attack them on the way down.   They regurgitate

to escape or they have mis-judged the size of the meal.     She seems to think either it's not a snake or

it thought poor little birdie had been squeezed dead.     Hope poor birdie recovers
