All you have to do is record 20 minutes worth of bird watching a few times a week. Good excuse to sit by the window with a cuppa and a timtam

It does haven't to be a flash birdbah, even just a dish of water counts.

Mum has a pond that the birds (and dogs) all love!

Got the confirmation.  Thanks Pimpy and Boris.  Will do the necessaries in the morning.

All the different water troughs and situations where they are placed.  Very varying.  Love the photos.

Stupid ebay! Won't let me upload my birdbath photos - they're too large.

Anyway, we have two in a shaded area, filled every day, along wth 7 or 8 permanent feeders. We get up to 50 Lorikeets in Summer, (earmuffs for that!), Galahs, Corellas, Cockies, a couple of Peach-faced Lovebirds, (probably escaped pets), Magpies, Biutcher Birds and assorted others. And this is in suburban Melbourne!

Great relaxation, and a lot of fun to watch the squabbling, too.

i seem to be attracting a lot wasps though, in amongst my wrecks and scrap metal

one of the buggas bit me so im on a mission, musta killed a dozen nests already

Hi Joe--know a bloke-swears by  el cheapo pressure pack brake clean-

has a farm and it sorts wasp nests out-give it a go.................................Richo.

I think you spray it all over the wasp nest in great quantity and then set fire to it.

Just make sure you stand well back as it tends to go wroomph when it bursts into flame.

Aps-think he sprays in the enterances at dusk-and they are gone in the morning.

just googled that richo, looks like you'd get longer pad life, using that stuff

at the moment, im using standard insect spray [fly, mozzie] knocks 'em dead on the spot

found a few more nests rummaging for some angle lines, converted an old table saw bench for a drill press & vise, finished it off last night

recently on a hot day i had the evap air-cond on.. i could see wasps hovering around an open window behind the fly screen, attracted to the cool air... i'd hit them with fly spray, then a monster showed up must have been 2 1/2 " long, killed that too [we breed big over here in the west - or i havent seen a queen bee before
