Super I never saw the Gallop poll but I go by the ABS in which everyone responds and would suggest that would be more accurate. Depending of course on the actual sample size the Gallop poll used?
Many young people still live with their families when in their 20s, and some have not come out of closet, therefore they would be very unlikely to state that they have a gay relationship on form that will be handled by the rest of the household.

I only just now looked at the graphs and realised we are not talking about the same thing. I am talking about percentage of people who are gay, not who are in same sex relationship. Obviously, there are number of people who are not in any relationship in this moment, regardless of orientation. 🙂

the way i read it
they are not saying that the next step after gay marrage is these people turn into perverted sheep shaggers or the like or wanting to have 2 wives god only knows ones hard enough why you would want 2 is beyond me.
but what it does do is open a legal prisidance that then alows those that do wnat more than 1 wife a platform on which to build a case around.
i seriously doubt that the sheep shaggers will come out of the wood work its a very long way off that society would do anything but frown about that.
i mpersonal dont beleive that 1 will lead to the other not unless that particular kink was already there

yes, agree, it was..... mind boggling that anyone thinks that?
Besides, as Kilroy said. if they were going to do that, marriage won't change anything.....

Oh exactly super it doesn't cover the number of people practicing the gay lifestyle and there would be more although if those figures are an indicator I can't imagine it would be that much more. The reason why I looked it up was actually to do with my study I was quite surprised that it was such a small number.
However those graphs are relevant to same sex couples and this discussion. Ok just looked up the stats it says here that Nationwide statistics - 1.2% of adults identify as homosexual or lesbian but that was 2003 and only 20,000 surveyed.
Research conducted by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University in 2003, has shown that of the 20, 000 people surveyed, about 1.2% of adults identify as homosexual (gay or lesbian). Among men, 1.6% identify as homosexual, and among women, 0.8% identify as lesbian, while 1.4% of women and 0.9% of men identify as bisexual (see the graphs below). An overview of the study can be found on the ARCSHS website and a four page summary of the study's results

If you do have some later figures that is not biased on gay/lesbian website or christian website please share.... Its hard to find the exact figure anywhere
Oh and I apologise didn't realise it was the idiot that talked about besti-ality that's ridiculous just thought he was over maybe over conservative 😮 I should have made more effort to research him and read the OP properly! I only saw Cat's post and responded to that
