I did get that maths question right though, you know, the one She ele had at the bottom of her posts.
Yes, I remember that one. The Pod was so stridently confident that her/his answer was correct....and it wasn't.
I am a maths tragic and even I got it right. What a hoot !
That Math equation is as simple as memorizing a math rule. BOMDAS or BODMAS. it has absolutely no relevance to a person's IQ or their intellectual ability and performance.
if you were not aware o9f the rule or had never been taught it, or used it so infrequently as to have forgotten it existed then you could not do that sum.

*hangs head in shame*
nah, sorry can't do it. It was too funny.
As I said earlier, we may think we are smarter than the next person but there is always something to learn from them

@i-once-was-bump wrote:crikey I don't know what test, it first happened in high school as the test could not cope with anyone actually finishing the modules within the time frame given so had to do another one and the the dept of education had me tested again.
when studying business management systems (database programmer and systems analyst) I sat an aptitude test and after that I was asked to do another test by the uni.
I have no interest in IQ tests as such and have never applied for Mensa.
I don't think IQ tests really do much for the person taking them other than have your ego boosted for a brief period of time and then the reality of the need to study, to pass exams just like everyone else, sinks in.
just as a person whose IQ falls below 70 learns differently (2 standard deviations below the norm), so to does a person with an IQ over 130. (2 standard deviations above the norm)
They learn differently and require a different kind of education in order to maximize their potential.

crikey one of the unis in Sydney has the ability to test children and adults and have no qualms is giving people a result over 160 after testing and believe it or not my sister has the identical IQ as me even though we followed very different paths in life.
I am aware of at least one child being tested with an IQ of either 172 or 179 (just can't remember) and there were other children in the programme that were going over 160
Maybe you are not aware of testing being available for those over 160 because you have no need for such tests however I can assure you they do exist.

Yes Joz, we tend to differ on that subject.
Past observation and logic on the subject, and the knowledge that the powers that be love to latch on to anything intangible that they can feed to the populace to attempt to make them subservient to their will while dipping their hand in the populations' wallet has made me sceptical.
There has been no conclusive proof provided and just adds to my scepticism.

Not a low shot....just truth.
One of my favourite quotes by Clifford Stoll..
"Data is not information, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not understanding, understanding is not wisdom"
I have known many with very average IQs and little education who had the wonderful gift of wisdom.

If so, I don't have to prove anything to you.
If you don't want to believe me then that is fine.

politically i agree with you, only in that theres no reversal or fixing the problem (which you dont think there is)
