I use that expression quite often as well

Ok, there is one....maybe not dumb but really annoying. I have a friend who, during a conversation, keeps asking - Do you know what I mean? Do you know what I mean? Do you know what I mean? Maybe she thinks I am dumb because she believes I don't know what she means

Trust me
Ummmm no I won't, because anyone who begs to be trusted is suspect

Hardly joining "them" - that video shows her saying something in context ONCE and then the same reference in the speech is shown repeatedly in the video.
A little different to someone saying the same thing repeatedly at different times and often for no reason other than habit. Abit like how annoying you find the person that repeats "you know what I mean?" over and over at the end of a sentence.

Actually, no. That was taken from Ms Gillard's speech to the National Press Club; her first appearance as a PM and she said it more than once, in fact, she said it so often that it became the subject of many jokes. (why else would it be funny )
Personally, its neither here nor there* but since it has been brought up, thought I'd share the funny video
*another annoying phrase

Actually I think Julia Gillard coined the phrase and the world thought it sounded pretty good, so they all started using it.
Now moving forward I might have a nap because i'm weary again.
