Dumb things that people say

Who is that guy that keeps saying "let's be crystal clear about this" " i want to be crystal clear" etc etc

Does he mean something else? I really don't get it.

I found a better dumb thing:

Abbott on not talking to the press: It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to talk and remove all doubt.

DY: "Abbott on not talking to the press: It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to talk and remove all doubt."

I would guess that the former would be the choice for Abbott,  having had a few years watching Rudd and Gillard absolutely confirming the latter.

its obvious that over exposure breeds contempt, but secrecy has the same effect. after whipping the press into a frenzy in opposition he expects to turn them off ? News may comply for a while, but he is kidding himself.

LL: "..........after whipping the press into a frenzy in opposition............."  A funny LL?

After a few years of the daily Gillard & Rudd circus and knife throwing act ,  obviously a funny.

its precisely what occurred , funny or no.  and despite the small amount of material coming out of the current team, much or most of it is gold .

Even worse is when you preface it with "Look."

And so ironic given the lack of transparency we now have from his government.

This "Look" thing has really taken off. It seems that half the people being interviewed on tv these days begin every response with the command "Look!". Maybe it's a way of stalling while they think up an answer. Perhaps it's a bad habit they're barely aware of. Whatever it is, I wish they'd knock it off.

We'll turn the boats back (where it is safe to do so).

Tony Abbott's government capitulated to Indonesia on Friday night, ordering a Customs boat with up to 63 refugees on board to go to Christmas Island.
