Big W are stocking 2 models at the moment. They are on special for $498 down from $598.
I'd love to hear feedback from those you you who have one.
Thank you kindly!

I just checked what model I have..... it's a DC 29 barrel....(one washable filter).... I also have one dog, one cat... picks up every pet hair
without any problems, off all surfaces and has done so for several years. It's also light weight... (says light weight on barrel).
Spending more money on special pet hair attachments sounds unnecessary and like a marketing exercise.
If a vacc has great suction....... that's all you need.....

You are also paid to upsell vaccums (important point).... and I believe... that you do believe what you recomend.

Will the sort of carpet/floor surface play a part in how well a vacuum performs? And whether an upright or barrel can handle the suction? Will shag pile come back in vogue?
I dislike barrel types (even though I have a Miele barrel) due to bumping into furniture as I dance to Queen (up loud) as I work.
When I had a cat, more hair was noticed on chairs, bedding, etc. than on the floor. I found that a handheld was suited for that purpose.
Someone mentioned headlights on a vacuum before.....mum had an upright Hoover from the 60s that had a light. The cleaner lasted for years. "It beats as it sweeps as it cleans".
I've seen English shows where a chore is called "hoovering" the carpets.

Ummmmm.... Deb..... Shag pile rugs have already come back in.......lol.
I have stayed away from uprights..... why stand there pushing the entire vaccum when you could just push the head thing around?
The only problem is making sure the barrel can keep up with me....(I forget to help it around the doorways).

Boris........if you have an upright, google "dyson reset button"...........it may be just that simple.

We bought a DC29 a couple of years back, prior we always had Hoover and Volta uprights.
The DC29 has a filter that needs a wash ever 12 months or so.
It works far better than either of the two previous vacs and is easier and lighter to drag around.
I would give it 9/10 the only down fall is it works so well and the dust container could be bigger as it needs emptying almost every use
