Unlike America Australian Ebay is not the place where you can get something cheap. But that is the place where you can sell your **bleep** for good money.

Unlike the American eBay forums, the Australia site is better.......by far.

It is truly amazing that deep knowledge can be attained in a few months. Most people take several years.

BH, eBay is an open market place wherein sales are determined by what buyers wish to freely pay. If you are of a very parsimonious nature don't expect sellers to to be your "friend"
I have been here since 1999 and as a retired engineer have made plenty of money selling used electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment., which I see is your interest. I must also point out that when purchasing specialised parts I generally use eBay USA/UK because the prices are based by the economy of scale in these countries.
My suggestion: start selling lots of "bleeps", and then retire on all the accumulated "lucre".
