Electricity Bills

Not sure if this has been done on here before but thought it may be interesting.

My bill was $460.44 with all the mod cons used, dishwasher reverse cycle air con most nights electric cooking, hot water, Outside lights on few hours of a night, washing a few loads a day, Air con used few hours most days. We don't use the dryer. We watch TV 1hr each night for the news and then its turned off as we dont allow the children to watch it, They have to do school work and bible study.

We mainly only use electricity from 5-10pm and around 2hrs of a morning as we work full time and children are in before and after school care as well attending church Saturday as well sport and church/bible study on sunday's so roughly the same times each day we use the electricity, The fridge/freezer obviously going 24/7

We don't have a gas connection where we live.

Re: Electricity Bills

May I interupt the stoning to ask Moorna12 a question.

You state you don't worry about the electricity cost because you have installed solar panels. I was under the impression you are the richest person on ebay. Didn't you accumulate great wealth from a transport empire? Never have to work again. Buy your own tropical island type wealth??

Re: Electricity Bills

We raised our son very differently. We encouraged him to think for himself, take risks, and trust his own judgement. He knew that we were always there to pick up the pieces and to back his judgement. He now takes great delight in telling friends that he was raised feral. But this feral was a barrister at 30, has 2 international patents and several other degrees. All of which he did because he wanted to do. As far as we were concerned be could have been a Garbo. I guess what I am saying is to trust your child and give them room to breathe.

Re: Electricity Bills

I read fairytales when I was a kiddie, Grimm's Fairytales that is.

Maybe the kids should use candles when doing their bible study at night, I think that would be more fitting from both an ecclesiastical and power consumption viewpoint.
