As can be seen in the photo, Foo has had a blood test done today.
i noticed a swelling on his snout on friday morning so took him in to the vets friday afternoon.
the swelling is thought to be a tooth abcese.
whilst at the vets the vet noticed looking at Foos weight he had lost over 2 kilos since last december and about 5 kilos in a year!
hence the blood test, i will get the results tomorrow afternoon.
hes on anti biotics for his swelling and its allready gone down since friday.
the vet his holding off on the tooth problem until she gets the results from the blood test.
hes 11 years old, i'm not panicing but i am worried.
fingers crossed its not what it might be, cant even say it.
Solved! Go to Solution.

it seems to be true, bigger the dog shorter the life. little dogs often live to 18 or even older where big guys n girls are 'old' at 10.
plus for exracer greyhounds they have had a hard life that can take a toll in later years.
i hope you have a few more years of joy.
and i will take another discarded racer and give him or her a wonderful life however long it is.
i only wish i could afford 2.
or 10

Such sad news of the passing of your FOO David
Along with so many others here, he became part of our lives through your sharing of the news and pictures. Thank you for sharing such an important part of your life.
You and Rosy will continue to be great company for each other and I hope your search for another rescue greyhound will come to fruition soon - not to repace FOO because that could never happen - but to give another beautiful greyhound the opportunity to be part of your lives and they will be richer for your adopting them just as FOO was.

David,
I am so sorry about Foo.
It's hard to lose a pet when they are so much a part of the family.
Good luck with your application.
Let us know how you go... of course we will be very pleased to have another dog in our eBay family.
Sure we can come up with a suitable name also!!!
i'm not sure about names, when Foo arrived that was his name, it was allready on his various papers so i just left it.
the name grew on me until it seemed perfect.
his racing name was Dyna Garton from memory, the spelling might be different.
i dont know if Foo was given to him by the trainer or GAP or his Foster mum. i never asked.
watching the youtube videos of greyhounds ive seen some great names.
Foo was/is a greyt name.
