As can be seen in the photo, Foo has had a blood test done today.
i noticed a swelling on his snout on friday morning so took him in to the vets friday afternoon.
the swelling is thought to be a tooth abcese.
whilst at the vets the vet noticed looking at Foos weight he had lost over 2 kilos since last december and about 5 kilos in a year!
hence the blood test, i will get the results tomorrow afternoon.
hes on anti biotics for his swelling and its allready gone down since friday.
the vet his holding off on the tooth problem until she gets the results from the blood test.
hes 11 years old, i'm not panicing but i am worried.
fingers crossed its not what it might be, cant even say it.

Good news indeed David.
I have always said that our pets deserve the best we can give them. I never used supermarket tinned food....it was always better quality dry food from specialist pet stores.

Quick update,
vet just rang, hes awake, doing ok, but still bleeding a little so they want to keep him under observation a while longer.
pick ups changed to 3.45.

we are home, one very sad wobbly Fooby is back on his comfy bed.
hes full of pain killers, but the blood has stopped.
it'll be a quiet night for him.

Don't worry David....he will bounce back better than ever in the morning.
Most animals are very stoic when it comes to pain.
Just make sure he does not have to chew too much for a few days.
One tip we were given when a dog was off it's food or not well was to give it a tin of cat food. It is definitely not for long term use but apparently smells more enticing than dog food and gets them eating again.

FOO also had a small lump removed from his knee, the vet had looked at it previously and was going to leave it alone but as he was under anyway he took advantage and removed it.
i'm not worried, i know this time next week he will be back to normal, we have been through this before.
he will be quiet for a few days, he'll get extra extra TLC.
then we'll get to work on putting on weight.
he needs to put it on, i need to take it off!
he's asleep now, bit of snoring going on here.
not the most comfortable position but it works for him,
