exactly! that is a good example.
a lot of ppl are complaining about that
and have contacted their local members.
now how would you feel if you found out
that you were financially supporting the catholic
church by purchasing certain products?
i'm sure you would want to have a choice.
that was one of the issues raised in the
program.

Why aren't they charged the small surcharge it apparently costs? If this practice of taxing our food by religious entities is to continue then the money it raises should go back to the government to be spent on social welfare.
Why are we being taxed by religions? that's the question here.

Well said but it's just more empty moral vanity and comparisons that don''t add up.
All private schools get some form of taxpayers subsidy because the public system could not cope if there wasn't private schools.
Class war and leftist rhetoric against private schooling was rife under Labor but it was lip service to the militant unions, they knew the truth.
Just another Catholic bash ho hum.

I think you will find that Halal certification may in fact make some products cheaper so on those you are not really paying for it, you are getting a discount. It is about job creation too or did you miss that bit?
Kosher meat is actually pretty good, have you tried it? What about dill cucumbers? Even some of the kosher lollies are yummy! Unless the food is poisoning you why are you concerned? Do you want to pay more for non halal products or can you see that the huge market makes some things cheaper?

That is not the point, who cares if kosher lollies are yummy. Taxing our food to fund religious entities is.

i think you need to accept that some ppl
prefer not to fund religious organisations.
the certification needs to be more transparent.

Yes but some believe otherwise. If a product isnt labelled the we are being forced to support relgious entities. end of story
