Four'n Twenty Pies are now halal

I went to 7-Eleven tonight to get a bite to eat, grabbed a Four'n Twenty pie and gosh it was halal.

Traitors!  How can they do this?

I put it back in the warmer then drove to a local Italian restaurant and we had pasta carbonara.

Re: Four'n Twenty Pies are now halal

You all make your choices and i make mine. My choice to not eat Halal foods does not affect you in anyway just as your choice to eat it does not affect me.

I am happy with my decision.

If you are unhappy with my decision, well, i truly do not care and none of the ganging up or name calling is going to change my mind.

Have a nice day all

If you are happy with your choices, but don't want people to question or criticise them, it would be wiser not t o bring them onto a  public forum - complete with links to arguments you believe will back them up. By doing this  you are actually inviting people to engage in debate about them. And if the weight of opinion is against you, that does not constitues "ganging up",  it simply means that the majority of posters here do not agree with you.

And while some posters may find your choice absurd, or ill-informed, I doubt whether any of them really care enough, on a personal level to feel unhappy about it.

Your arguments - and they have been fairly strident at times - have never made me feel bullied, Bushie, why do other people's differing opinions make you feel that way?.

Re: Four'n Twenty Pies are now halal

As another poster went to great lengths to point out, I was unaware of Halal labeling, I don't spend hours checking food labels. She even took the trouble to point out a typo I had made ( Oh to be so PERFECT ) I was open minded UNTIL her bullying started, then of course the "band wagon" had to join in, that was enough for me to think about those who support Halal labeling, far more closely and make my decision to avoid it.

I think my views contrasted with yours, but I don't believe I bullied you or made any disrespectful comments towards you or anyone else because of our different perspectives.

hold on, I think a few of us pointed out someone else's brain fart, it was more than a typo - the retrieval of milk from a slaughtered animal. I hope they didn't feel bullied, it certainly wasn't my intention (I pointed it out too). Then ther lactic acid misconception. for someone else...

Yes, the typo thing gets a bit old, as does the spelling corrections - I know I spell atrociously even without the typos but my care factor is 0 and I am too lazy to use spell check. I know I can spell when I need to and use the available tools when it matters, but it is not going to ruin my day because some anonymous person gets their kicks out of pointing out my inadequacies. Instead, I look at it as an opportunity to learn, if it was more than a typo.

And I cringe at the inadequacies of my grammar. I know not to start a sentence with and or but, however, sometimes I have to make my brain work too hard to correct it - and the whole to whom and who thing? I just take a guess and hope I get it right, and ending a sentence with something like "to" I sometimes forget that I am supposed to write things like "to whom I am referring", rather than "the p[erson I am referring to"

Oh, and you didn't know about the labelling?

Be confident wenough in the knowlege that you know other things or can do other things. Accept that you can't be perfect at everything and that it is ok and doesn't make you any less of a person. People can only devalue you and your skills if you let them.

I didn't really know about the labelling either, but I couldn't give a rats **bleep** because I know that this is not a measure of my intelligence or abilities in other areas. Before I didn't know, now I know a lot more - that's the deal breaker, the preparedness to learn what you don't know if it is of significance to you and your life and that of those that matter to you.

I don't know about a lot of things, but I know, or make an effort to learn about things that affect my life.

How can I know something if I don't even know that I need to know about it?
