Why is no one supporting our farmer
Why is Tony ignoring the issue
Lifeline has confirmed a shocking report of a grazier who committed suicide after he ran out of feed for his 400 head of cattle.
He tried to have them moved elsewhere but was told they were too weak to travel so he shot the animals before shooting himself.

friend who's father was a farmer took his own life when things were good. i haven't heard of the laid off blue collar workers doing this in great numbers yet.

Unfortunately, the farm may have been "good"; but something else was not.
The number of suicides is more than any of us think. It is not publicized due to "copy cat" reasons. That is why, when the subject is on the news/current affairs, it is accompanied by contact numbers of Black Dog and other welfare agencies.

When i was last in Athens, a pensioner shot himself in the head outside parliament, the cut's to the pension meant that even though he had worked hard all his life he now felt that he would be to much of a burden on his family. It was sad and very shocking.

yes, i'm well aware, and thats possibly the point. we don't know this persons state of mind. many suffer setbacks city and rural and carry on.

could end up with that here as Tony moves disability pensioners from pension to new start and reduces their payments for a single by $300 a fortnight

but the shortfall is made up by the NDIS and the services apparently supplied by that

No, it isn't.
