Great Aussie coin hunt

Australia Post are going to have a different commemorative $1 coin starting on the 30th for twenty six weeks to hand out in their change

I'm going to have to buy some new pages for my coin album

We've already had a heap of different circulation coins this year what with the new obverse effigy

Unfortunately this stupid phone doesn't always allow you to share via clipboard so I can't provide a link but if you have an Australia Post account you can check it out

Martin - perhaps check out the RAM first.

Uncirculated will retain & gain value - rather than circulated in change.

It's also a good idea to take a peak at the mintage - if there's heaps - they'll only ever attract facevalue - $1.

Geez, Dom, don't go knocking the humble dollar...

One of them will grant you unlimited use of a shopping trolley... ha ha

Imagine the adventures you could have! ha ha...

Domino, article says that they'll be a limited mintage
I've been collecting coins since I was a kid
Not concerned about their value
I'm a collector
I gave my stamp collection to the neighbours kids twenty five years ago
I pretty much only collect the years that a significant event happens
Such as the introduction of a new coin or when the obverse changes
This year is really significant
Two obverses in the same year
That hasn't happened before

I too have been collecting coins since I was a kid. While I don't specifically collect the years that a significant event happens, I do like giving coins as gifts to people I care about. I've given a few people a coin that was minted on the year they were born (significant event to them). Usually I can afford the year in excellent condition because most people I know were born after the more expensive years lol. Most of the people have been quite pleased.
