Has Community Spirit lost its Community Spirit?

It is quieter.

But I don't think this has anything to do with nastiness (actually CS is way less nasty than CW, RT and the other used to be) or excessive reporting (it just feels like there are more reports because there are less people).

My theory is that in the last 2-3 years we have embraced facbeook and twitter to such an extent that many people don't have time to post on a forum.

I bet half of you have FB open right now so even if you are a regular, you are probably splitting your online time 50/50 between 2 forums whereas before it would have been 100% CW.

It is ironic (is that the right word) that people use threads like these to bicker in.. it is sort of what people in this type of thread are saying - that they don't appreciate that and there it is right there for everyone to see.
