All I am saying is that as far as I am concerned the whole voting system is a shemozzle and never has the correct count
And I would say, from the inside, that is an incorrect assumption.
All in all whatever happens, none of us will be better of.
That is probably correct.

I think most mothers have that ability Lurker.
My children and grandchildren all agree that my death stare is best avoided.

i see christopher pain, i mean pyne, was proclaiming the coalition winners.
they most likely will be the winners of the election, but
i rekon there might be a rather interesting call from the PM to old christopper to let him know who is in the bosses chair and therefore who is the one who gets to say 'we won'
plus i rekon there will be recordings of pyne doing his we are the winners happy dance being put in the 'to use next election' drawer.
the public dont like bad winners much.

This year's application is as it should be....application sent to the party office for delivery to the AEC who then sent the voting forms to you. The actual voting process is only handled by the AEC....no party office should ever handle the actual votes and there is no way the AEC would give any voting forms to a candidate's party office.
Next election I would advise you to apply for postal voting online, direct to the AEC.
I also received the application for postal vote from LNP, and stupidly I sent it off. Then I was bombarded by their propaganda. I did look at the envelope and it said AEC and PO box number, so I assumed it is going to the AEC. When I received email from Liberal Party telling me they forwarded the application to AEC, I hit the roof, I called the AEC and the lovely man told me they have lots of complaints about this, but unfortunately it is not illegal!!!!!! How can it be not illegal to pretend you are AEC. He also told me there is an address on their website where official complaints can be sent and if enough people complain something might be done.
As far as medicare goes, well the LNP always wanted to get rid of it, they would like American style system; given half chance they will do it. They might have realised that outsourcing anything would mean they would lose the election, and abandoned it.
The thing is that privatization of medicare would be even worse disaster than outsourcing the job agencies who now care only about making more money for their shareholders, and the people looking for job are the losers.

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are complaining about.
You received the application form from the candidate's office and returned it. They forwarded it to the AEC as requested.
Why are you upset?
There is nothing stopping you applying direct to the AEC.....nothing is forcing you to let either party do it for you. You can now apply for postal voting online which is what I did.
The application was filled in on Sunday and I received the papers on the following Tuesday.
I have to admit when I had to apply for postal voting on behalf of my blind neighbout I received an enormous amount of help from the sitting member at the time even though neither of us voted for him. They also advised how I could have her put on the Permanent Postal Voters list meaning that she automatically received her voting papers without having to apply every election.

Stawks it was over 30 years ago and the information was not as readily available as it is now....no computers around then.
The problem with her application was that she was blind and could not really sign her name in the little box. She also had to nominate someone to fill in her forms for her....I had to give all my details as well with her application.
At the time she was offered an exemption from any future voting....the old dear nearly hit the roof as she was determined to have her say in the government of the day.
