Looks like X Team got a huge swing - 19% - and got rid of the Libs for ya.

I would've voted for him too

I have no idea why they take 2 days break, seems weird to me, to make the voting public wait even for a result

It takes time to rub out all the pencil marks and change them when there are so many to do

I really hope that remark is tongue in cheek.

ummm do you realy trust them after all the lies and cheating, I know I dont and I use pen.

Interesting story, last election I was sent aplication for postal vote which I duly completed, forms arrived with a pre addressed envelope, but not the AEC address, it was the local Lib office. some months latter myself and OH got a please explain as to why we didnt vote.

Only reason I can think off is that because we didnt vote for the dodgy party our votes were amongst the 10s of thousands that disapeared in SA that election.

This year the same thing happened with the aplications forms, they were filled out and returned but this time the forms never turned up.

And no I dont trust them

Can't see the ALP winning. Sorry.

If anything, it'll be a hung parliament.

The thing I'd like to get rid of is the preference voting as I want to vote for one person/party,not half a dozen.

I felt like tearing the thing in half so it was more manageable,(I can imagine others trying to move it around with

the pencil in hand and putting an unintentional one in an box and making it invalid).

I wonder how many candidates got their 4% of votes needed to get their election funding just by being on the

ticket.

The problem with past the post voting is you get a candidate whose vote is nowhere reflective of the electorate.

eg ten candidates stand 8 get 10%, one gets 9.9% the last candidate gets 10.1%

WOW an electorate represented by someone with 10.1% of the vote- sounds like the Senate.

Self inflicted wound.

exactly, when she did the deal to remain in government i was pulling my hair out. don't do it i thought. but she/labor did and the rest is now history.

btw, i have allways voted labor, but this time i put my X next to Mr X. as i'm in Grey south oz i knew labor had no hope but the polls were showing Mr X was looming as the one who might just knock the libs off. looks like he will too, fingers crossed.

will it be a good move, dont know, but cant be worse than having a 'yes' man in the seat.

SNAP, Despite what some have suggested on these forums, I have voted Xenephon in the past few elections. He has shown some potential for awhile now and like David4430 says, we dont know if it will work, but it cant be much worse than the yes men of the two major parties.

I am lucky enough to be in the seat of Mayo which was won from the Liberals by Rebekah Sharkie. She may well end up holding the balance of power in a hung parliment, so it could be very beneficial for our once safe and overlooked Liberal electorate.

As far as the election goes, It looks like Labour lost, the Liberals lost ( seats ) and Mr X could be one of the few winners.

If you make a mistake you just take it back and request a new form.  Not difficult.
