Australia's climate is changing
It is the Bureau's responsibility to provide decision makers and the general public with accurate observations and information about our changing climate.
Australia and the globe are experiencing rapid climate change. Since the middle of the 20th century, Australian temperatures have, on average, risen by about 1°C with an increase in the frequency of heatwaves and a decrease in the numbers of frosts and cold days. Rainfall patterns have also changed - the northwest has seen an increase in rainfall over the last 50 years while much of eastern Australia and the far southwest have experienced a decline.

op don't read it pls, as it doesn't support your opinion 😄

TH: "You are welcome to your opinion and even if you are right about the carbon in the old trees, there is more and much yonger plants on the forest floor that are/were sucking up carbon."
Oh gosh, let me repeat:- "Truly mature tropical forests, by definition, sequester no net carbon. Growth is equal to decay" Simply put a mature forest is carbon neutral
My opinions TH are based upon research of professional scientific bodies, their publications, and a little knowledge of meteorology, climatology, and physics. I suggest you visit the sites of the CSIRO and the BOM as they have opinions/findings based upon many years of data.

Hey I haven't said the climate isn't changing in fact all along I have said it is, its only the causes that I am disputing.
I dont believe carbon is the fundamental cause but a symptom of a much bigger issue and sorry people a tax is not going to have any affect

John your opinions are based on what the powers to be have told you to believe, try thinking past what you are told for yourself and see if it still makes sense

The thread title asks; Have we been conned ?
The Opening post has a link which claims Global warming stopped 16 years ago.
If one does accept global warming how could they accept that it stopped 16 years ago or believe that we have been conned?

TH: "John and I suggest that a rip off tax on the over all small amount of CO2 that Oz we can reduce also wont have any effect on the outcome."
MM:You still have not grasped the fact that our carbon tax is an overall fiscal loss, not a gain TH..
So it isn't revenue raising

Iza your comment indicates you don't understand the difference between global warming and climate change?

And any thing the government administers all ways ends up at a loss, even if they found a way to turn rocks into gold it would still end up a nett loss
