It's this - do you have, anywhere in your country, a monument to the man who released rabbits into Australia? And, if so, what does it look like, and what does it say???
I've tried to find one, but I've had no luck.
Best wishes, Bob, the crazed yankee...

Meanwhile, back to the kangaroo thing - do people ever eat those animals?? What DOES it taste like, anyway? Does it bounce around on your plate....

Apparently it's very gamey, like your own deer. They say eating kangaroo would have less environmental impact than eating (introduces species) cattle. But Aussies, largely descended from english settlers, can't come at that.
Kangaroo meat, usually from cull shooting exercises like your deer shoots, mostly goes into dog food.

I buy the human consumption roo meat from Woolies. It's 8 bucks a kilo, so I wait until it is near its useby date and buy it on special.
Then I feed it to the dog
I bought roo rissoles once. I didn't realise they were marinated. The reeked of garlic, but the dog still loved them

It needs to be cooked rare. Otherwise it will bounce around on your plate like rubber

OK, Gang! Here's part two of the Kangaroo Challenge. Meanwhile, I must pause for a moment to talk once more about the statue for the guy who introduced rabbits into Australia - I have to do that so I don't appear to be going off topic!!! All I've got to say about him is that if he had introduced Chihuahuas instead, it would have been far more interesting.
Kangaroo Challenge - does anybody keep them as pets? Can you do that? Can they be tamed? Will they smack you silly? Bear in mind here that the only background for this was the Aussie movie "Kangaroo Jack," which I thought was hilarious, and I'm still laughing. I've also seen Crocodile Dundee, which I also love. In fact, these two movies have formed the basis of all of my moral and political standards......

Apparently some ppl do keep them as pets, mainly if they've rescued them from road accidents. I think ultimately they're released into the wild again.
Apart from that I believe it's against the law to keep them as pets in most states.

Actually, I had a kangaroo steak sandwich once, they were promoting kangaroo meat outside a country pub barbeque at the time.
It wasn't too bad, either!
