Holiday Favorites

  I've been reading, and watching shows about food around the world, it's diversity and its similarities. And with Christmas coming, I thought I'd ask what your favorite special to the holidays dish is? 

  One of mine is Whoopee pies, one of my DILs is from Pennsylvania Dutch country and she makes them for us only at Christmas. They are so goood!

You are all such nice people, thank you for caring! I'm feeling a little better today, haven't "ralphed" since around midnight. I've lost 7 pounds, not in the best way, lol!
My little ones have been great about taking care of me and each other, and especially the pets and critters, I can't tell you how much I appreciate and love them.
I will be on a VERY bland diet for a couple of weeks, mainly bone broth and oyster crackers, with attempts at things like boiled chicken and steamed to death veggies when I think I can face those.
My throat and esophagus were blistered from the bile, the bone broth will help heal them, and I'm on an acid blocker regimen for a month to promote healing. I tell you, it is HELL being old and getting sick!
But I am slowly bouncing back, and as long as I follow the regimens( part of which is letting Lea crack the whip on what I'm allowed to do) and sleep a great deal, I'll be fine in a couple of weeks. I miss food...sigh...

And coffee.And chocolate. And juice. None of which I can have for a month. But at least I can smell it, lol! That does help.

Sounds like yo are on the mend Lal - good work.

It's always a good idea to feign - for a couple more days - just for the TLC.

Finally got my Australia Day sorted - holiday tomorrow so - group dinner tonight.

We are allowed 5 visitors - so all good.

A BarBQ - then a game of :

Trust Me, I'm a Doctor - great fun.

Trust Me I’m a Doctor is a hilarious card game that lets you become an old-timey doctor, treating serious medieval maladies with some VERY questionable cures.

Players draw gross Ailments and horrifying Cures, then attempt to cure their patient by suggesting various outdated cures, aiming to match symbols on the cards and back up their combination with lots of verbal jousting.

The first doctor to be chosen thrice wins, and if everyone is sufficiently grossed out this is a bonus!

This party game encourages interaction with your friends. Each of these Ailments and Cures are REAL things that happened.

Hey Lal, it is so good to see you back again and on the mend.  That is such a relief;  also very good you know how to take care of your body through such a rough time, well done, and may you start rushing around with the critters very soon and having lots of fun ....

The temp has dropped back to 29 ahead of the rain band coming through.

You must have copped some rain ahead of Melbourne, Lyh

Actually had 2 days in a row with low humidity and cool breezes - I am LOVING it, a chance to recuperate.
