I like housework.
I enjoy the physicality of cleaning and the end result of clean and shiny.
If you truly want a process to help with cleaning your home go to Flylady.com

Wow, Blondie. That is exactly what I need!
I get overwhelmed and need to break it down into smaller tasks.
I am going to have a shiny sink today!

WOW. You are amazing.
I am feeling totally inadequate. My Son used to say that I was the worst housekeeper and best Mum.
No good feeling inadequate jean, its only cleaning, though Im only thinking its a bit of dust here and there, and not ankle deep!
I think your son has it right- priorities sorted!
I do a bit each day, it gets to be a habit...clean as you go kind of thing..
I do have a super tidy/ clean up if we are having friends over, but we get to enjoy that(after theyve gone!) so its a win..
I certainly wouldnt be judging people because their of their housekeeping..bl**dy hell, lifes too short...Mrs Bookay comes to mind!!- and who wants to be that, or spend time with such an uptight person?

I've had a look at that flylady site before and never got past the shiny sink.
Seriously, it tells you to put your shoes on and do your face check your flylady emails and leave a clean tea towel out before you go to bed.

Haha j*oono, havent looked at the site- sounds like a nightmare, another one that makes women feel b/sad...sigh..well, f that!
I only like the name..sounds a bit like a super hero name.
Though a good shiny sink is handy for lippy touchups lol
Edit to add..
And now Im wondering: What the hells the clean teatowel out for? if a burglar comes in during the night, am I suppose to flick him with it?

This one will give you ideas, but do not sign up to unless you want endless emails about shining your sink at 2am (its American) Having said that also very handy with some great ideas for a schedule. Start out in small steps don't try to tackle everything in one go just change your routine slightly and build up from there. There's also the organised house wife. I used to clean everything all the time, it was from all the years of cleaning in 5 star Hotels/Motels. Boy how things change, if you knew me now you'd never know I was once slightly obsessive about cleaning lol! ๐

Housework is extremely low on my priority list. I'm too busy. But here is my "programme":
Floors:
Get washed every few months. I just sweep it every couple of days and vacuum rugs every week.
I washed last weekend and was surprised at how clear the waste water was. That should be your guide.
Bathroom:
Every 2 weeks - 3 weeks.
Do the little things in between like chuck some bleach in the toilet every few days to keep it clean. Do it before work and dont flush. Ditto with bathroom shower tiles. Bleach in a spray pump. Spray before work and walk away. All clean when you get home!
Beds:
Bedsheets when they smell. The kids ones can go for weeks and weeks.
Ironing:
I've stopped ironing. Even the most creased garment will straighten itself out once it gets worn - body heat gets rid of creases.
Clothes go in big flat baskets. Each person in the family has one. I sort the washed clothes once a week and fold them into a basket by person. If they want to put the clothes away, great. If not the basket can sit on the floor of their bedrooms until empty!
Keeping things tidy:
This is our biggest battle and the reason a cleaner is useless for our household.
Someone once told me that you should automatically pick things up that are out of place as you move from room to room. So if you need to do a wee, pick up discarded kids clothes to put away on the way to loo. That way you are tidying every moment you are in your house. Gret in theory...
I just put everything in piles by person and ask them all to collect their stuff once a week.
