After a few "almost good enough" rides, I finally got my hands on my dream car.......a '65 Malibu SS with an L79 327.
By 1979 the Monza was getting old.........inside door pulls had broken, had to stick another trans in it, clutch worn out...........so I ordered a new Trans Am, black on black with T-tops and no screaming chicken. I opted for the 301 motor, as it came with a $400 rebate, and besides, I was in the process of building that Vega bracket racer. Talk about a panty-dropper, I put twin turbo mufflers on it, and it sounded fantastic.
