How clever of the UN

Why did the UN and the Global Warming religion change from 'Global Warming" to "Climate Change"

After a decade of the earth not warming outside the normal fluctuation the UN was able to be contradicted and shown that Global Warming was not happening.

When the change was made to Climate Change the contradiction was removed because every one KNOWS that the climate changes and always has done.

Now lets see if the UN can demonstrate how humans are having an adverse affect on the climate.

Re: How clever of the UN

A level of 400ppm falls short of that level by a factor of 12.5.

In any case how does that relate to climate change?

Re: How clever of the UN

In fact the whole "Global Warming/Climate Change/Climate Diversity"  falls into the category of "elusive quantification."

How convenient

Re: How clever of the UN

I was discussing with ashjoma, thanks.

The reason I enjoy a discussion with her, is she is able to rationalise why she has those opinions. Further, she's not wrong re pollution...any thinking person would know that pollution is not good for the world. She doesn't just ignore or pretend it's all ok, in order to justify her opinion...she explains it rationally.

Even tho I don't agree with all she says, I now understand where she's coming from. Her opinion is right (for her) and my opinion is right (for me).

So that's the difference. Some people can provide evidence to support their opinions. Other people just blurt their opinions, denigrate those who differ and seek out spurious supporting articles. It's really not worth having any type of conversation with that type of person IMO.

So is it your argument that because something cannot be accurately quatified it therefore cannotbe said to exist?

I think the bests experts in the world would be hard pressed to quantify with pinpoint accuracy the full effects of the Fukushima disaster - but I haven't yet seen anyone denying that it occurred.

I ask once again, how does global pollution relate to climate change (the subject of this thread)

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

We don't have to worrie about climate change/planet warming  finishing

us off as over population will be a bigger problem first.Man Indifferent

Pods,CO2 levels  are monitored and controlled in greenhouses .CO2 levels can be increased by burning fossil fuels..which also makes them hotter.High levels have effects on the plants and humans .CO2  is not necessarily a good thing Woman Happy

re climate change and your water vapour remarks,

when CO2 from fossil fuel causes  temp increases more water evaporates.

the water vapour feedback loop makes the temp changes caused by CO2 even bigger.

poddy ,do you think volcanic eruptions can cause the climate to change?

Re: How clever of the UN

I agree....and the whole problem really boils down to overpopulation. The plague of humans and our need to control the natural world.

If tackling climate change by living a little more eco-friendly causes such hysteria, can you imagine the reaction to policies that reduce population?
