Ash, sorry to hear about this. You both seem to be rational and have pretty much everything under control. My only suggestion is to get legal advice just to make sure that everything is covered. My first relationship ended after 26 years and I have no regrets other than I wish I had done it sooner. Good luck with everything and make sure that you take proper care of yourself.

I wish you luck
The best thing is not to get angry if decisions are made that go against what was originally agreed to. Keep on an even keel and discuss things calmly as circumstances can change over time.
As for new partners, accept them but watch out that they don't try to influence existing arrangements to your detriment or your ex's.
My hubby and I separated many many years ago and despite hiccups and interference from others have managed to remain friends, though we don't keep in touch as much these days. There are practical circumstances in our relationship that means we can't make the break so we work within it.

I have never heard of that before. I must be living under a rock.
