I went to start a thread about refugees and asylum seekers last night but...

I copied some photos last night and I wanted to post them here but I thought better of it because they are very distressing.

Is it time for Tony Abbott, Dutton and Chris Morrison to look into their hearts?

Turn back the boats to what? Stop the boats for what reason? I have no doubt that they have seen these photos of a young 3yr old boy washed up on the beach and his slightly older brother and his mother drowned too.

Australia does have a say. We take a couple of thousand refugees from Syria. Germany is taking in hundreds of thousands.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-04/abbott-defends-asylum-seeker-policy-amid-migrant-crisis/674934...

Mr Abbott highlighted his approach to the issue of asylum seekers as the New York Times launched an attack on his Government's policies.

The media outlet published an editorial claiming the "hardline approach" would be "unconscionable" if it was adopted by the leaders of Europe.

"Tony Abbott has overseen a ruthlessly effective effort to stop boats packed with migrants, many of them refugees, from reaching Australia's shores," the editorial read.

"His policies have been inhumane, of dubious legality and strikingly at odds with the country's tradition of welcoming people fleeing persecution and war."

The article went on to criticise Australia's practice of sending asylum seekers to immigration detention centres where alleged abuses are taking place.

"Instead of stopping the abuses, the Australian Government has sought to hide them from the world," it read.

Your giddyness at finding Abbott responsible is bucket worthy. But it's not unexpected.

But, if it makes you feel good.

*typo. because they're so righty. ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm telling you what the world is saying. They are saying Australia needs to do better.

Who gives a rats ass about what the rest of the world thinks of our approach to boarder protection , let them clean up their own back yard before they criticise what works for us. How many hundreds of people die in the Texan and New Mexico deserts trying to get into the U.S.

If replying to above post there was no insult. By the the way both left and right insult, name call and bully. I was a bit iffy about a previous post of yours. Good night

Yes. Who is condemning Australia (apart from Labor supporters) and what are their solutions to this global problem?

The New York Times. That's what I just posted. The whole world needs to work together with this huge problem. It's like a world war that everyone is turning their backs on.

And they're condeming Abbott, but not really helping ease the situation themselves?
