I think the schools will incorporate a new teaching module that will have the theme of "Gender Issues and Marriage". As long as they don't make same sex marriage compulsory.

If we had a referendum it would be bigger majority than Ireland. Hope our government stops messing around and just pass the legislation.

Why would they make same sex marriage compulsory?
The vote is about the right for same gender people to be able to get married, not forcing them to get married to be recognised as couples.
The world has enough divisions- we really dont need a division of married couple versus unmarried couple- its 2015 **bleep**.

Do you really think it will happen during this government?

I think it might because Abbott will be vote chasing and because the majority of people support same sex marriage, it will be used for political gain.
Well done, Ireland!

They won't need to. With regard to marriage, there are no longer any gender issues to discuss..
