On a two-party preferred basis the ALP is 52.5%, unchanged since the Morgan Poll of December 7/8 & 14/15, 2013. L-NP support is 47.5%, also unchanged.

If an election were held now the result would be an ALP victory according to the Morgan Poll.

Basically, it seems Abbott and Co are tackling many of the issues the average citizen would seek to fix, were they in a position to do so

So yes, it looks as if Abbott is at least as popular now as when LNP took power.  And very likely he's even more popular than on election eve
