Is a tidy desk the sign of a tidy mind?
Does the state of a persons house (cleanliness) reflect a persons wealth (state of finances)?

Funnily enough, I just found a quote by Albert Einstein
"If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk?"
What are you?

do we have to do the poll?
I am a neat freak, but my mind is cluttered
Ive seen some really messy people that were wealthy. or been to houses where you think people are church mice, and theyre millionaires

I have always been of the opinion that a person's living environment is a reflection of their self image.

lol...no the poll isn't compulsory....I think I'm a visual person.
There are a lot of contradictions to this saying it seems. I'm guessing Albert Einstein was messy.....like his hair 🙂

Do you mean it's an extension of their outer image rather than how organised their thought processes are?

I have always been a clean freak.... hated clutter, hates untidiness.
Now, i have a cleaner once a fortnight.
.... because...basically, im just tired!
My cleaner is my one luxary. that is all.
has nothing to do with my wealth. more to do with my aging body and weary mind! *sigh*

Our house is very messy. I wouldn't say we are rich, but we are definitely not poor either.
You can't judge people on appearances or their tidyness levels.

I don't believe that being messy is a reflection of ones socio economic status but I do think that in many cases it can reflect how a person feels on the inside. Not always though, sometimes peoples level of tidiness and cleanliness are very different to ours. So we could look it and say that we all have different standards of what we think is acceptable in terms of cleanliness.
If you are talking about hoarding there are definite mental health issues there but the same applies, it happens people from all economic back grounds.
Personally I've been very clean and very tidy but I've also been messy. I think we all have seasons in our lives 🙂
