Every one has the right to self-defend.

The term โself-defenceโ may imply that it is only available when the person is under threat themselves, but in actual fact, it can also be
used in the defence of another. Traditionally speaking under the common law, self-defence of another was usually reserved for
relationships that fell into the category of child and parent, wife and husband, or โmaster and servantโ. However, the position may have
changed, and many jurisdictions in Australia allow for a person to use force in defence of another such as s 418(2)(a) of theCrimes Act
1900 (NSW) or s 9AC, s9AE(a) of the Crimes Act 1958 (VIC) for example.

Self-defence of property
Self-defence as a principle is available for acts in defence of property. However, the use of lethal force is probably not justified.

I posted a simialar question and got smacked down for it. Guess it's diffrent when speaking of defending one'self against an abusive cop.But an even more relivant and worthwhile question, at what point should a person fight back against a cop, do we just stand there and let ourselves be killed if it comes to that?
Is there any circumstance okay to hit someone?
Depends on who you are and who you ask. I live by a code of NV (non violence) so I would almost rather die, or be killed than to resort to like violence. Truth is cool, NV is cool, testify is cool, JoanRosa cool....
But it really doesn't matter with me, I can be attacked, not fight back, and still get the blame and charged, abused in jail, ect. Police lie, it happened in 2008.

I agree katy, on principal, but what if the woman was the agressor, and I have seen it, beleive me.
I stood in front of a (ex) friend of mine who was going totally apespit at her boyfriend, who had done nothing more than try to get her to go and sleep when she was totally drunk and obnoxious to the guests in her home.
She actually attacked him, hitting, punching, abusive language, and he simply held her arms so she coudn't do any more damage after she landed the first few, I managed to get her away from him, (in my own way) and he is now happily married to another lovely woman who deserves him.
He did not hit my friend, but in my opinion, he would have had every right, too many women count on the noble 'men won't hit you' to act violently against men, when they don't have the guts to act violently towards another woman who can hit them without being tagged with the 'beater' stigma.
