showup very well in the pics.
I forgot about this too, I would go plain white, same as cupboards etc or..... green, same as your walls. Those brick shape white tiles are what we had before. I loved them.

Hopefully the plate holder is going up today, just have to move a power point is being done atm. I like the brick looking wall tiles cause they look "federation style" to me which is in keeping with the age of the house.

Same here, we have brick shaped tiles too, and a federation house.

This now gives a better pic of where we have to tile. We are thinking a federation/brick shaped tile in a colour to match the cupboards but not sure how high to go above the cooktop

I think I'd take the tiles up to the middle of the shelving ... just above the plates, where there is already a line ...
It looks like it'll be a horrible job to get the old tiles out ...
On the wall, there are two lines going down ... do they protrude at all?

Some of the tiles are already gone, they broke when the house was re stumped. I'm not sure how easy/hard it will be removing the others but I think the glue underneath is not that strong. The lines down the wall are cover strips which are easily removed/cut if necessary.

Is that the fridge on the right?
I would tile to either the middle of the shelf or to the top of the fridge.
Looks nice!
