What I am finding wondrous is that China was able to contain it so quickly and they did not have an infection rate of anywhere like 5 % of their total population. They put draconian measures in place, things that only a communist regime could get away with, but their death total is exceptionally low, given their total population numbers.
Which brings it into perspective is that I've they had infection for two months before anyone else had and then how
did that rate stay so low initially.
And why did they deliberately allow five million citizens to go overseas to all parts of the world to infect others?
That's where most of the pandemic started.
The governments of the world need to put a maratorium in place that Chinese "investors" can't profiteer from
this pandemic.
The economy is weak across the world and it's likely that the Chinese will buy/invest heavily and this is their
perfect oppertunity to try and control the world even futher.
It doesn't matter how you look at it the only country that will make a big profit out of this is the Chinese.
Maybe a bit late now but we should have rounded up and expelled all tourists earlier - the Baroossa Valley hotspot is being blamed on tourists
All guest workers should be tested , including those of little Hong Kong on the WA coast
So. Are we still accepting migrants?
No , we are entering a golden age of employment once business adjusts with help from Govt and funding
Also rental costs should reduce as demand reduces due to no new arrivals - the rigged system will falter in favour of we the citizens

I think the reason a lot of people are not concerned about this virus is because the percentages of deaths are low, and they think it will not happen to them.

This shows where the imported cases of COVID came from:
I also remember the talks about advertising to bring more Chinese tourists to the bush fires stricken areas . It was not up to China or more importantly the US to stop people coming here, it should have been our government knowing what exactly is going on in different countries, and stopping their citizens coming here, and isolating our citizens returning. It was painfully obvious that Trump is making mess out of the situation all the way back in January, early February. Now, I am just 70something grandmother and I knew where America is heading. I am sure if you see my posts from few weeks ago you will notice I was furious that our prime minister is not closing down travel from the US, and travel advice should be DON'T go to the US.
American doctors and nurses do not have adequate protective gear, and are told to wear bandanas, and/or wear the "disposable" mask for a week!!!!! When I was in hospital for my hip operation last year, all the medical staff would put on clean mask, disposable gown and gloves every time they came to my bed, and then placed them into the bin on the way out of my room.
What is happening in the USA is worse than in 3rd world countries situation.

USA - a more extreme capitalist private-enterprise society : how good is your insurance , or how deep is your wallet

reported coronavirus cases - seems excluding those that do not make it to hospital ( flu) , and I suspect those that are triaged back home to fend for themselves and predictably succumb (Flu)
Got to read between the lines regarding stats when hospitals have reached satuation point and are triaging out acute cases
While we have the means we must create fascilities in advance and also enhance protection for medical staff as documented in Italy with over 2,000 infected
Also create a ready reserve of willing medical people : retirees, medical students, shake & bake helpers
Now , not when it looks like is becoming a crisis

Just like all the other dead people that thought it would not happen to them.

Wouldn't this be discharged - not triaged.
