... instead of having a go at those who post, let's have a little seasonal kindness and respect.

You say it best when you say nothing at all

I read a couple of days ago of a Santa, working for a retail store, who was instructed by his employer not to use the words Ho Ho Ho...as that referred to a prostitute.
True story!
What's that old saying?..."Only in America".
Happy Christmas to all...Ho Ho Ho!

That'd be appropriate because christmas was instituted by a woman who was in an incestuous relationship with her son and wanted to keep his name (and god status) alive after he died. Of course it wasn't called christmas back then.

And just when did o do such a thing? I can see that a thread wishing goodwill to everyone is wasted here.

Merry Christmas dida. I hope santa brings lots of good humour.

Oh and by the way, I seem to remember wishing everyone a little seasonal kindness and respect. Isn't that practising what I preach?
But then I genuinely DO wish everyone a happy, stress free, festive season full of kindness and good will.
Have a safe and happy festive season, everyone.

I'm going to be brutally honest here, and this post may or may not be appreciated, but I really have to say there's two ways the opening post of this thread could have been interpreted just like my response to it, really...
When I posted earlier, I chose to interpret it as a well-intentioned call for everything that "Christmas Spirit" generally entails, which is why I said I was 100% behind the spirit of the post.
But, that meant I had to overlook the the other thing the post was saying. Whether it was intended to or not, the title and post together (Let's have a little Christmas kindness, instead of having a go at those who post, let's have a little seasonal kindness and respect), isn't actually wishing anyone anything - it's suggesting to the whole forum to be nicer than they usually are, since it's Christmas - the obvious suggestion also being that they normally are not very nice, more specifically 'having a go at those who post'.
The reason I am pointing this out is not to 'have a go', it's to help explain why some of the replies to this thred might be interpreted as a little on the defensive side - in other words, the OP itself could be seen as 'having a go', even if it wasn't meant that way, and as I said, I chose not to take it that way.
I do hope everyone has a lovely Christmas, or holiday season.

You accused me of being sarcastic and now you're saying you didn't say anything that wasn't nice???? If that's not hypocrisy I don't know what is!
digi, I definitely read the OP's post as having a go at people and I partly base that on other comments the OP has previously made.
If you want to break the OP's post down even further, they only said to be kind to and respect "people who post here". It's obviously okay for those "people who post here" to disrespect others by refusing to listen to helpful advice and constructive criticism, and to go on and on and on and on and on about the same problem, without doing anything to help themselves and just blaming everyone else (usually ebay). If they're going to refuse help when it's offered, and even despise it, then don't ask for it in the first place because it's akin to spitting in someone's face when they've tried to help. I ignore a lot of posts now, even when they've been given wrong advice by others, because of the serial whingers who've shown that it's a waste of time trying to help a lot of people. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Most of the people who get criticised in the forums have themselves started out by criticising others, quite often unfairly. As you sow, so shall you reap!

Perhaps people could also reflect on what they do have instead of constantly whinging about what they haven't got, and what they think others owe them!
Correct me if I wrong ... but aren't a significant proportion of your posts whinging about what other people post ?
Gotta love whingers who whinge about others whinging
Haters gonna hate .... Christmas or not ...
