About 3 years ago, I was under the care of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist / surgeon) due to an injury.
One visit I happened to make a comment about people, mainly kids, who have their faces buried in their phones, and wonder if in years to come if there will be a whole generation that has bad eyesight.
His response was that they already noticing an increase in sight problems amongst children.

Use it for calls, texts, the odd photo and every now and then the Gps, and saying good night to Siri.
I wonder why and what people do on them, is it games, facebook, I don't know.
What ever it is, it seems to consume them where they are oblivious to the world around them.
My brother has a smart phone. He works odd hours and puts his work schedule in it. Also, whenever anyone asks him about something (TV, weather, sports, trivia) he can't resist looking it up on the phone. Frankly IMO he depends on it so much that without it he probably wouldn't know where he was from one day to the next.

I sometimes wonder (and really do), what would peoples reaction be, if for some incredible reason the technology crashed.
Would a lot of people panic, would they be so lost that depression takes over, because their phone doesnt work.
One can only guess.
The only reason I got a smart phone was, we were at an airport, and my wife had a smart phone. The tickets were on her phone (those square bar code things) her phone died, and dont mean a flat battery. It took awhile to get everything sorted so we could board the plane.
Last year we were going overseas, I thought it best to get the smart phone so I could also have the code on my phone, in case something similar happens.

I sometimes wonder the same thing.
I was reading a facebook post where someone said calendars (along with a list of other items) are a thing that you won't find in homes any more.
There is one in mine. I like at a glance stuff.
But I know a lot of other people put everything on their phone diary.
I do play the occasional game on facebook but I can't fathom how people could bear to do it on phones as the screen is so little.
I'll probably get a smart phone one day as the little GPS app that talks you to destinations might be handy but I don't really want to look at any phone every few minutes, can't understand why so many young people are so addicted.
