Love Fran and her work. She'd better not come to Australia and see what's worn here. We are the worst dressers after England I have ever seen.
Have you ever walked down to the Via Veneto around 11pm and seen the men and women walking down the street? better check yourself before you do.

I was going to start a thread about fashions this morning. Alas, MIRROR, MIRROR is just what I wanted to talk about.
I too wear trackies or long housedresses at home, but going shopping I change into some nice outfit suitable to the weather. Brush my hair and put a bit of lippie on and a light dab of perfume. I live in a small country town and really hardly anyone cares what people wear, but I do care what I look like when out of my home.
Looking around on my travels, I am amazed at the fashions one can see in big cities and Airports and Train Stations.
What I really dislike, are dreadlocks on men and women. They look filthy to me, but then I am old and oldfashioned.
I do like that older women nowadays are more relaxed wearing colourful clothing.
What do you like about todays fashions and what do you dislike?
Erica.

Im interested in this topic! I like clothes, but I like beautiful everything, really! haha
What I like to see- no matter where I am, is a person who has made an effort with their appearance.
I know its none of my business, but Im interested in beauty...and it doesnt matter what age or size you are,or the style you like..
I dont really understand what it means to wear 'comfortable' clothes..arent all clothes meant to be comfortable?
When I worked in retailworld, women would say 'Once you reach a certain age, its as if youre invisible..no one looks at you, its hard to get decent service in cafes and shops..' and I would ask, 'So, what do you do?' and sometimes they would answer-' Well, what can I do?' Seriously???and another thing that was frequently said 'Oh, I couldnt wear that everyday, its too special' sometimes coupled with 'its alright for you (me) youre young' Argghh..really grinds my gears! lol
(Im my mind, I would think: The thing is, if you are attracted to 'special' wear it anywhere you want and feel 'special'. Whats the point in buying and just storing the garment? If a dress costs $500 and I wear it once- that seems expensive to me, if I were to buy a cashmere sweater for $500 and wear it, take care of it and love it over and over, and have it for years- its not expensive..)
It seems to me that people are too concerned with others' opinions of them- countless times I would speak with women, shopping with their friend/s and the friend would talk them out of buying something- even though it looked really good. I dont really understand that..
Its my business what I choose to wear, it gives me pleasure, but Im certainly not competing with anyone, and wouldnt comment on anything someone I meet is wearing- which happens to me...Does this happen to anyone else, just curious?
Erica, a distance relative who had dreadlocks when he was 20, saw a photo of himself at that age recently (hes now 35) and said 'Urgghh my 'great unwashed look' Why didnt anyone tell me?' lol

I like jeans, preferably stretch denim jeans. I have them in blue, white, pink, red, aubergine, black and a peculiar print fabric.

I put a little make up on every day and a spray of perfume.
I wear bright Pashmina's in the winter because I wear a lot of black.
I like bright pink the brighter the better.

Ooh rose, love a pashmina- so cozy..and useful!..better than lugging a coat round when youre no longer wearing it..
and a beautiful colour can really 'light up' your face...pretty.
