Just another example of the Liberals coming to power and having to clean up another huge Labor legacy mess.
Unfortunately the fatal flaw with Labor is not its social policies ( The NDIS is a great idea in principle ) , it is the fact that the party is full of union hacks. These people spend their whole working lives opposing business strategy and when they come to government, they simply have no idea how to actually get a project up and running. When they try to actually introduce something, even if its a good idea, they just make a mess of it. Classic examples are the School Halls fiasco and Pink Batts tradgedy that had to be aborted urgently after it killed a few young guys.
Despite what some think, I,m not opposed to many of Labors ideas and visions, I just think the party is grossly incompetant and have proved time and again, that they simply cant get their ideas up and running.
And you "think' the Libs are able to do better? After 5 lonnng yrs of a Lib goverment,I'm STILL waiting to see them actually do something that actually benefits Australia and all Australians .... all I have seen, is a bunch on bumbling pollies, who haven't a clue how to run a chook raffle much less govern a country ....
Looks like we agree on something again....
I certainly wouldn't call the current Liberal government inspirational and reformative. ...........
The one important thing they have achieved though is to provide some economic stability after the impulsive and chaotic Labor years. This stability has allowed business to plan, invest and employ people. The result has been a period of relatively low unemployment, continual modest economic growth and a steady rise in individuals personal wealth and general confidence.
It may not be big picture stuff and it wont win elections, but the period of stability has been important after years of Labors erratic, policy on the run, poll driven government.

The problem is very simple. Labor introduce hugely expensive, grand plans into legislation when in government, BUT FAIL TO PROVIDE FUNDING in forward estimates to actually pay for them. These schemes take years to roll out and implement, BUT THERES NO MONEY TO PAY FOR IT AND NO IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY. Surely thats not too difficult to understand. Oh you do make me lol@ times lol lol
Glad to hear I brighten your day up a bit......

Somehow I think those who are battling to keep a roof over their head, feed and educate their family, pay their MASSIVE power bills etc. etc may disagree with your thoughts re growth in personal wealth and general confidence.
I found the Lib gov led by Abbott to be far more unstable, erratic and demoralising that any other gov I have experienced .... The 2014 fed budget was an absolute disaster and things went down hill from then. Personally, I dont think they have ever recovered and as less likely to under a Turnbull led Lib government
If you are doing well under this government, then that's great. I know many, people who are not as fortunate.

true, labor had a future plan, to have a NDIS system to give the disabled a permanant source of funds and support, and a national NBN with the best speeds possible for every citizen (almost).
but your wrong, the plans were not unfunded, they were all funded and it was never claimed by anyone they were not.
the liberals just wanted to do it 'better, cheaper & faster'
which they succeded in, kinda, well its not better, its not cheaper or faster, but they get to blame labor when the problems show up.
there was a plan to increase the medicare levy to cover the NDIS, and it was accepted by the majority of the public as it was a GOOD plan. it was malcolm who said, oh we dont need no stinking rate rise in the medicare levy, we can run this NDIS on air.
and now NDIS V2 the Turnbull model doesnt have the cash to give the service the disabled were promised so they are redrawing the term DISABLED to fit the scheme.
just like they did with the NBN, every one said 'you'd be daft to build an NBN with copper wire to the home" but Mlcolm, the guy who invented the internet built it anyway.
it sank into the swamp!
so he continued building it, after several more sinkings it burned down fell over then sank into the swamp.
the NDIS is going the same way!

Totally agree David ... Turnbull completely stuffed up the NBN, then he stuffed up the NDIS, now he is "trying" to sort out the power co's ...... thankfully they wont let him get his greasy hands on them, goodness knows what would happen if he was allowed to get anywhere near them.
