She did good ,she did bad.
Historians will scratch their heads for some time.

As the granddaughter of a Welsh miner, I personally have no regrets about her passing ... although I wouldn't wish dementia on anyone. She was a cruel person who made life more difficult for many and I'm not going to even temporarily change my views on her because she died. To me, she deserves no respect.

I like Barack Obama's tribute:
The world has lost one of the great champions of freedom and liberty, and America has lost a true friend.
She stands as an example to our daughters that there is no glass ceiling that can't be shattered.
She helped restore the confidence and pride that has always been the hallmark of Britain at its best.
As an unapologetic supporter of our transatlantic alliance, she knew that with strength and resolve we could win the cold war and extend freedom's promise.

When people rejoiced that Osama Bin Laden had been caught & killed there was outrage that anybody could possibly be happy he was dead at last.
A mass murderer who enjoined young men to blow themselves up & kill thousands.
When a 20th Century giant of a political figure who dragged Britain out of the dark ages & forged ahead with reforms that many didn't like, she was a conviction politician.
She deserves some mark of respect even if you didn't like her politics. The Labor opposition gave a very gracious speech today & he will be remembered well for it.
All the others who are dancing in the street, who are they? what have they done? what have they contributed? & the most horrible remark from the ex hooker on Q & A last night went down like a lead balloon, she had to scramble to regain some cred, which she never managed to do for the rest of the program.
unlike ms albrechtson (i forget how you actually spell it ) who began with no cred like every other day.
i agree about the dancing in the street etc however. i don't see the point in hating someone just because they are wrong or stupid or whatever. i dont hate abbott or anyone for that matter. i just disagree with them.

I think it really disgusting that in death people can be so incredibly disrespectful.....
what is that saying???
Never speak ill of the dead???
I find it surprising rather than disgusting.
It takes a special sort of person who can unleash that sort of celebration after death.
It suggests great pain caused by such person to me.

I wonder if any conservative voter will rejoice, dance in the streets & the PM of the day give a deadpan lukewarm oration when Geoff Whitlam dies.
I wonder if there will be guests on Q & A who will get a laugh if they say "& here I am with no champagne".
I wonder if there boards will have the conservatives out in force deriding & accusing & being happy when that old man dies.

I would take a guess that GEOFF Whitlam's family may be upset when he dies...however GOUGH Whitlams passing might have more of an impact on the general populace.

Does everybody become saintly just because they have died?
Apparently so........
RIP Margaret Thatcher.
I don't really pay much attention to UK politics.
