First reports show over 50 dead and hundreds injured. Witness say the shooter used an automatic weapon........the NRA says, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people"...........well I find that a little simplistic........would have been hard of a knife wielder to kill that many people.
According to authorities the shooter is dead, they're looking for his girlfriend now.
The gun cockroaches are going to come out of the woodwork now, claiming that if someone had been armed, they could have stopped the shooter......bulldust. No doubt any one armed (and there were sure to be at least several in that big a concert) were busy filling their knickers.
Prayers and condolences to the victims.

. Still not denying there right to bear arms but deny them the right to ammunition SIMPLES
PEOPLE kill people with GUNS specifically designed to do so,(semi automatic weapons are designed for ONE
purpose only,so they can be changed to give people the power to kill people).
There is no valid reason for a private citizen to have a semi automatic weapon,
If they had no guns then tens of thousands of Americans would still be alive.
Americans kill more of their own people then terrorism does,(yet they spend billions on terrorism but only a
paltry amount on the prevention of home terrorism),
Licensing requirements are a crock as ANY "legal" permit holder can and in a number of cases do turn "nuts"
further down the line.
Gun ownership in the US is that entrenched that it's on par with some religious dogmas,(if something is
repeated often enough the person will become convinced that it's the truth).
IMHO guns in the US will NEVER be used with the intention of why it was written into the constitution and by
continually using the 2nd as an excuse they make a mockery of it and the 2nd,

Your feigned outrage at this tradition is laughable. Must be a feeling of guilt for not serving your country.
Yep......sad.
You have no idea about me or who I am or what I have done in my life, but as for "serving my country" I will just tell you this: I have spent more than 30 years working as a nurse in a Repatriation hospital caring for both civillians and for veterans of many wars; the sort of people with injured bodies and damaged psychology caused by war and by the Univeral Soldiers who go to fight in them.

No, I have no further questions right now. and to the ones I had, I think I know the answers.
You're aghast astounds me!
You do realise that you can go to any markets, swap meet stalls, trade centres, antique store, Cash converters even, and buy a sword of some description.... I own about 6 antique swords. All on display in my home, and could easily do some serious damage to another human being if used! I've even got a WW11 rifle bayonet. (that one is locked away in a display cabinet)
...goodness, walk into BCF and check out the huge fishing knives, hunting knives, fishing spears!
Better yet, walk into any catering suppliers and check out the arrangement of multi-sized kitchen /chef knives that any ordinary citizen can purchase, no questions asked!Or, go to Bunnings and check out the various axes, shovels, spades for purchase.... chainsaws, electric nail guns!
Just as dangerous if not more dangerous, in the right hands! only difference, is distance! knives, etc, need to be (for obvious reasons even noted by blind Freddy) close range while guns, nail guns, fishing spears do not!
All perfectly Legal!! same as your motor vehicles, chemical sprays, poisons, oh...the list goes on!
The right to bear arms is just a SMALL splash in the ocean of the *weapons of mass destruction* debate!
Not sure which state you are in but If you live in Vic you need a licence to purchase/own any sword, genuine or repo. They also must be kept/displayed in a locked cabinet. It is also illegal for anyone under 18 to purchase a knife or for anyone to carry one your person.

And yet you had no trouble pigeonholing me........

@johcaschro wrote:I think that's the second time you've used the term "gun fondlers" in this thread and I'm curious to know just how it is defined. What is a gun fondler?
How does someone who admittedly sleeps with a gun well within fondling range (i.e under you bed) define this term?
I'm a bit confused by the relationship Americans seem to have with their guns. It seems like a sort of love-hate relationship. Americans love their guns and hate to be separated from them, even to the extent of taking them for rides in their cars and sharing their sleeping quarters with them?
So, what is a gun fondler and how many guns does one need to own and in what circumstances, before one has the term applied to oneself?
"So, what is a gun fondler and how many guns does one need to own and in what circumstances, before one has the term applied to oneself?"
My opinion of a "gun fondler" is a person who frequently uses the term to "pidgeonhole" an entire group of people, while being that that type of person. For example, having loaded weapons stashed under the bed, in their vehicle, ect, yet quick to hypocritically demand how others behave.
Another example of this would be to post the same picture over and over, everytime the subject comes up of some hillbillies carrying weapons in a diner. I'm not sure what state that's in, but I'd never live there.
After this latest incident I think things will change. Slowly, but it will happen. I think the majority of the people would agree with me. You shouldn't be able to buy any weapon that can be converted to automatic. Those kits will be outlawed. Open carry is a stupid idea. There should be some kind of mental health evaluation before anyone can buy one, and I'm pretty sure I know who'd fail that test. *clue....it's not me! : )*
Although that guy has called ME a gun fondler in the past, I don't have a loaded weapon under my bed, lol.

Pity you have such a comprehension problem......it was my daughter who used a sword to cut her wedding cake.

The 2nd should perhaps be amended to:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, (the right of
the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed).
By adding the brackets it means it infers to the first part only as intended.
Or the way it should've been written:
The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed upon to form a
regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State.
That was the intended use as a protecting Militia,(it has nothing to do with freedom to
buy guns to kill innocent people).
Which of course is also obsolete so maybe they should just repeal the 2nd,( the
same as the 18th which prohibited the manufacturing of sale of alcohol within
the United States).
They both state that it only refers to a Militia and it does not give "permission" for
any ordinary citizen to buy weapons designed for and used to kill other citizens.
Unfortunately when the 2nd was added to the constiution they never evisioned the
death toll of innocent people that it would be responsible for.
The constitution was/is designed to protect the right of all Americans but it fails miserable with
the inclusion of the 2nd.

a short time ago i was watching on the tv news the police over there in las vegas talking about what the found in the room where this maniac was shooting from.
so many weapons, stacks of ammo in the form of loaded ready to go magazines for said weapons.
plus elecrical serveilance equipment.
my question is, how long did it take for him to fill this room in a hotel/resort with all this stuff and how is it no staff noticed?
i thought hotels like this had daily maid service, come in and clean and tiday, remove dirty dishes and wet towels, all that sort of thing.
me thinks perhaps security in hotels is kinda slack for a country on high alert re terror attacks.
