60 minutes exposes the level of corruption and illegal activity within the Labor party
We all know its been going on for years. Now its time for Labor to stand up to the criminal element that controls the party and call in the police to have the offenders investigated and charged. Its not just the Labor party that is affected, its a manipulation of the fundamental democratic processes in Australia. We are all victims of Labors criminal element.

branch stacking isn't something new... as you say jozlamps both parties do it
Morrison's pre-selection

I'm interested to see what Daniel Andrews does about it.... they must get rid of him imo

While branch stacking may not be new, even I was surprised that leading figures in the Labor party would actually be committing fraud, forging signatures, possible bribery and using members of the public service to falsify records to allow it all to occur.
Labor has always sailed close to the wind with its associations with criminal elements within the trade union movement, but to have such flagrant disregard for the law and democracy at the highest levels of the party is very concerning.
I suspect Albo is too much of a weak, lame duck leader to take on Somurek and if the 60 minutes story is correct Andrews is already indebted to Somurek so it may well fall on the police to do the job for them.
The biggest concern is if Labor decides to do nothing and just tries to hunker down until the storm passes. This will only embolden the criminal element within a party which is rotting from the core.

nobody would approve of it... and I expect labor will take some action over it today... and that is one of the stark differences between the 2 parties.. with the liberals still having people like Angus taylor, Gladys Liu, Bridgett Mckenzie ect.. still in parliament
do a bit of googling chameleon and have a look at how close to the wind the liberal party and some of it's members have sailed with criminal elements and their own disregard for the law and democracy
google lobster with a mobster for starters

I have never seen claims that any Liberals have actually committed criminal fraud or intimidated or coerced members of the public service to commit criminal fraud.
Labor takes criminality within office to a whole new level. If they want to form government, they are not going to win elections from the votes of rusted on supporters such as the regular forum participants here. They need to attract the support of swinging voters such as myself. I look at stories such as this and simply shake my head. There's no way I can in good conscience vote for a party that shows this level of corruption and criminal disregard for our democracy and rule of law.
I,m surprised any of the regulars here would encourage criminality at such a high level of government by supporting it with their vote. Its more than a social issue. It becomes a question of personal morality and conscience.

whats really sad is a front line hard hitting investigative media giant like 60 minutes has been gradually eroded into a 4th rate ambulance chasing bunch of no hopers.
remember the early days with yana wendt, george negus and many others who were ground breaking investigative journos?
this story may have an ounce of truth in it, but because 60 minutes has been reduced to a 'no one believes you, your the kid who cried wolf way too often'
IF there is truth in the story, then its good its been exposed.
but is it a party destroying expose'?
no, its just another example of a guy using a political party for self gain.
and its happened, will continue to happen and prolly is happening now in the libs, greens and any other bunch of politicians.
another reason we need a national ICAC

@debra9275 wrote:Victorian Labor minister resigns following accusations of branch stackingA major joint investigation by The Age and 60 Minutes alleged that Victorian Labor MP Adem Somyurek insulted colleagues and used parliamentary staff to stack branches, which helped him amass power over Premier Dan Andrews’ government. Somyurek resigned on Monday morning, saying he will seek a police investigation into the secret surveillance of his conversations with a "long term friend and factional ally".he's gone already, thank goodness!
My guess is there is a lot more that could have been uncovered if this was allowed to simmer. The fact that he has gone so quickly smells of a major cover up of epic proportions.
Now the police need to step in and investigate. Charges need to be laid if the evidence corroborates the claims and jail time for both Somyurek and others involved is appropriate to discourage others from such criminal behaviour while in office.

what a laugh!
the team that brought us the scoop on kyle sanderlands
that was a click bait story!
not sayin theres not corruption in the labor party
but i'll look for a real media outlet for my scoops
60 Minutes = Infotainment. Mind you the ABC is still OK but nowhere the informative outlet it used to be. SBS is still OK.
But 60 Mins is something like . The news (Claytons) you're having when you're not having news.
The ABC is ok except for critical facts that they at times leave out....

If there is only an ounce of truth and nobody believes it, why did such a powerful figure within the Labor party resign at warp speed ?
Obviously rather than just an ounce of truth, its more likely just the tip of the criminal iceberg. There's a lot more to this story than we have are being told and Labor is frantically scrambling it to bury the whole truth before it comes out. Rotton to the core !!!
