I like Masterchef better than the other cooking comps.

Great way to start this season rather than the mass single tasks they used to do.

Now every hopeful contestant gets 1 hour to cook a dish tasted by the 3 judges.

With second chance contestants cooking for a blind tasting.

24 contestants get an apron.

I don't know about immunity pins at all & I also don't like all the eliminated contestants coming back & getting a 'second chance'. It doesn't seem fair. They have been out of it, some of them for weeks, and didn't have to put in the extra hard yards to stay, week after week.

I like the man with the 2 immunity pins-Sachi? not sure how to spell his name. But I think he seems like a great cook and lovely personality.

There's one woman there-Kristen I think it is-who is lucky to still be there in my opinion. I don't know if she is as strong as some of the others.

I agree that no-one should have 2 immunity pins.    It's just not fair to the others.

Nor is it fair for the other eliminated contestants to come back.  Will the contestants that are eliminated from now on have a 2nd chance?    No.

I hadn't heard about Hoda's weight loss. but on the Masterchef website, it says she's 32

and has a 12 yo son, as well as a 4 yo.   She must have married very young.

Some good attampts at a croquembouche. 

After tonight there will be 11 contestants left.

I think Sashi will play a pin, silly if he doesn't as he has two.

That means only 3 cooking for elimination. Go Jess.

Yes, Sashi played the pin - he had to,  IMO

I know, she is good but not good with time contraints.

I think she had a wonderful time and didn't seem too fazed by going home.

Kristen is showing great technique and I wouldn't be surprised she gets a pin.

Gee, they both put up somewhat ordinary dishes.

Surprising really, from a professional chef.

But that that taste test made my mouth water though.

I agree, all Kristen had to do was get a reasonable dessert up.

The chef is very young though and apparantly was an accountant turned pastry chef recently.

I might go and try her wares in Malvern at the Millstone.

If Kristen had taken notice of Shannon, she would've gotten that pin.

He told her not to put more lime in, that the flavour would develop.

But she knew better than the professional, it seems.

Just know, you'll be paying an arm and a leg for her food, Kopes.
