Re: Melbourne severe weather warning

We have had 2 days with thunderstorms, rain and wind (Bathurst). Yesterday was a no drama day weather wise.

Today it's a bit windy and warm. Looks overcast but it the dust storm coming in from the west.

We can't seem to win!

Hope everything is fine your end,give_rose.gif

Rain is a bit weird around the country as it's in that reverse pattern in some areas,(comes through ones and

then seems to come back in the opposite direction),shok.gif

HUGE thunderstorm happening here, been sitting out on the front verandah, watching the sound and light show    ..... Rain on a tin roof is VERY NOISY lol

Used to love doing that when we lived in Terowie,SA,(flat country and you could see for miles and watch all

the lightning shows for hours at a time).

That's what it was like around Terowie,(dry country with lots of whirly winds picking up the red dust and

throwing it around to cover everything and then it rained to make a sea of red running down the road),shok.gif

Most of the deluge just penetrated the parched ground around here and today I played golf,(small shower

at the start and then the sun came out and it was a nice day).

When a large front or some "bulky" smaller ones head our way some of the "old timers" here will generally just

say that most of it will probably miss us as it has happened for years ever since they put the lake in.

The are generally right as the system heads towards us and then splits and goes either side of us,(seen it

happen a number of times now),shok.gif

Talked to a woman on Thursday who used to work for the BOM and she said that even with all the technology

and information available a lot of the time it's still a guess,(just a more informed one),rofl.gif

My husband was convinced we were in for a deluge yesterday. The sky didn't look too bad to me and I said so, only to be told it had to be so, the radar showed it coming.

Well, it bypassed us, that's all i can say. Not a drop, no wind.  It's been fine for 2 days now though I think there was a gentle rain for a few minutes last night.
