Michael Douglas is reportedly preparing to announce he has ended his 13-year marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones.

"Michael is going to announce the split soon," an insider allegedly told the publication. "Catherine is fighting to save the marriage but he's had it."

Michael and Catherine, 43, have not been pictured together in public for four months.

His spokesperson refused to confirm or deny the claims, saying simply: "I won't talk about that."

Rumours the couple's marriage is on the rocks have been swirling for months.

What a shame I thought they were rock-solid

I thought the fact that Michael made public the fact that his throat cancer was caused by his  prdeliction for giving  was a very brave thing to say. Must have been pretty embarrassing for his wife though.

I saw an interview with Catherine a few weeks ago on one of those late night talk shows and she laughed and said these rumours circulate every 5 years and that they are as true today as they were 5,10 years ago.

It may or may not be true, but let's not forget that magazines employ people to sit at desks all day looking at photos of 'off guard' moments supplied by paparazzi and making up stories to go with them.

May not be true, how many times have  the Gossip mags printed that Brad & Angelina have split?

I was surprised to read that they have lived together ever since they divorced. Don't know how true that is.

I think it's rather sweet, and I hope it comes together for them. Neither of them remarried did they?
