yeah...well, according to the people closest
to her, she knows exactly what she is doing
so not sure to what extend she is being
manipulated. she seemed to know exactly what
she wanted her 'bangerz tour' to be about.
lol yep, that foam finger act was a shock but
i think, again, its because no one would have
expected it.
her acting is not that bad either....well, from
the only movie i've seen the one
with liam hemsworth.

Why do these young stars that made their debuts with Disney or the Mickey Mouse club, as kids turn into such controversial celebs? Britney Spears, Christina Aguliera now Miley.
Justin Timberlake has done well. Extremely well
Or is it just the women that have to prove something?

I know he popped into mind, but I dont think you'd call him overly controversial.
I really dont know ima. But I've grown up watching film clips just get more and more raunchy and the singers becoming more and more sexualized... It's almost like these days if women dont act like hoes, their music just never sees the light of day.

Angelina Jolie was an absolute shocker when she was that young but now she is an activist and UNHCR ambassador.
and i think that is precisely why her
transformation was so drastic, to break
away from being HM.
Agree 100%. She had to get away from that baby-faced, cute young girl to becoming a young woman.
Which is all fine, but why sacrifice your dignity and self respect in the process?
As Julia has said also in reply to you, while we might think Miley has gone off the rails and is just another good girl gone bad, she does know what she's doing. There are sacrifices in every big decision we make in our lives - for Miley, it was grow up, don't change and be forgotten, or grow up, have a drastic transformation and stay on top.

i think this is a good idea:
After a successful pilot scheme, overtly sexual, violent and explicit music videos distributed online will carry advisory age ratings in the United Kingdom, the British Government has announced.
The trial measures were originally introduced Oct. 1 last year when the U.K. arms of Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music partnered with digital platforms Vevo and YouTube to put clearly identifiable age classifications on music videos that are deemed unsuitable for children.

Agh I so want to see that film! Maybe it's all different for me because I didn't even know who Miley Cyrus was in Hannah Montana days, or when she first started acting. I agree that she seems to know exactly what effect she has, and she knows how to make the world speculate. I've seen interviews with her talking about the Robin Thicke thing and she says while she "didn't think about it too much, it was planned." So it's not as if she just decided to go on stage and do it, there were practices and everything.

Yep sure, a warning is always good. Especially because so much of this stuff is marketed towards children. In saying that though I dont believe in heavy censorship. People should never lose their right to chose what they want to watch.
Jess; I just think you can say "she knows whats she's doing" till your blue in the face, doesn't change the fact that she's allowed herself to be so exploited and has such a foul image imo that she has nowhere else to go, the sex tape will be next (if her next album is a flop...)
