well now i'm hearing that 'entities' wanting access to my medical records will need a 'warrant'

hmmm, well what if those 'entities' have judges who sign warrants at the drop of a hat?

how about no one can access my medical records unless 'i give permission'? or in the case i am unable to give permission, my next of kin?

my original thoughts on this being a good idea was that should i need medical treatment someplace where i'm not a usual patient i could just give the OK for them to bring up my past records wherever it is i am.

i never thought of police or anyone else deciding they should be able to have a gander at my files.

looks like i'll be opting out after all.

My Health Record exposed to security risks

A review of the My Health Record system has found the agency responsible failed to properly manage privacy and cyber security risks.

While the national audit office concluded this year's nationwide roll-out was "largely effective", it suggested that not all "emergency" requests to view an individual's record were legitimate.

The report also noted that four privacy reviews announced since My Health became an "opt-out" system, were never completed.

A number of recommendations were made, including calls for the Digital Health Agency to closely monitor compliance by third parties using My Health.

I've tried to by asking the Doctor if I had one or not and he said he didn't know.
I'm suspicious of him lying but I'm suspicious of almost everything.

My OH and myself opted out online and I still have the emails that confirmed that we were opted out.

And they will be kept forever in case I ever find out that we are opted in.

Lyndal - I too have kept the ' receipts ' of opting out.

Now I'd like to know - if I'm really ' opted out '.

Will run the GP around the block - he will be able to advise.

He simply has to log in - find my records - or not . lol
