On Monday the 4th June 2007, while holidaying in the UK with my Father, my Mother was struck by a van while crossing the road.
Mum spent 88 days in various UK hospitals before finally being brought home back to Australia on the 30th August 2007.
She is currently in The John Whittle Nursing Facility with brain damage
I have set up this thread to keep you all updated on her condition and her improvements and hopefully one day, Mum will be able to read it.

That's terrible. If your Dad is not able to sell, then perhaps installing security grills on all external doors and windows is an option. Not very nice to look at (and probably expensive to install) but they should keep these violent louts out.

My home alarm system has a camera facility attached and records any movement outside the house. I can check this if I go out and anyone has entered the perimeter of my property.

So im looking into hidden cameras (loved the hook one posted above) but they arnt motion detectors. So they record as soon as you turn them on and only record for a few hours.
Dad is out from 7:30am till 6pm.
Im now looking at wireless security cameras. They cost more but are set off by motion. The issue with those is that the cameras are bigger and cant really be hidden. Which puts them at risk of the cameras being broken. Theyll still record the video to the main box, but an expensive loss of the cameras
dont know what to do?

Ughhhhh....those ferals.
I can't help with any advice other than a neighbour parking his vehicle in the driveway. Radio going inside?
Some of the Technical Guys might be able to help. But may not be reading this thread. How about a New Thread about Home Security?
Thoughts are with you and yours.

Amy, SIL (well maybe SIL) installed camera in the house to watch their pet pup daschunds whiel they were at work. they could log in with their phone or computer and see what they were up to. it also recorded. the whole set up cost them $250 and was pretty easy to install. they gave them one camera which was all they needed. but they could add extras if they wanted to.
could you go and have a chat at the local dick smith store and then look on line for comparibles?

Amy, another suggestion is you can get CCTV cameras
that look like smoke detectors. They have motion detectors.
They appear to be a reasonable price, but you would need someone
to install it I think.

Make your own card, or buy a nice card, print out your own message and stick it over the existing one.

Today is my Mum's birthday.
8 years ago i rang her for her birthday while she was on holiday in the UK. I said a quick "Happy Birthday. Will talk to you again when you get home."
That was the last time i heard my Mums voice.
Five days later she was hit by a car.
If id known that was going to be our last conversation, i would of said so much more.
Mum hasnt left us yet. She still lays in the bed unable to move or communicate.
I miss her everyday
