My Mums update thread

This thread is dedicated to my Mother and her recovery.




On Monday the 4th June 2007, while holidaying in the UK with my Father, my Mother was struck by a van while crossing the road.

Mum spent 88 days in various UK hospitals before finally being brought home back to Australia on the 30th August 2007.

She is currently in The John Whittle Nursing Facility with brain damage

I have set up this thread to keep you all updated on her condition and her improvements and hopefully one day, Mum will be able to read it.

The waiting , and knowing that your loved one is suffering , is so, so hard.

My sis is just drained and feels the same way i do.
She wishes it was over.

My dad will never say he wishes it was over but i hear in his voice he is exhausted with it.
Thing is, i think he will be totally lost once Mum goes.

Amy, I haven't posted here before, but have been watching.

Nothing I can say, just please know I am thinking of you and your family and praying for the best possible outcome for all of you.

hi all

sorry for no updates.
Theres just nothing really happening.
Mum has been ok. Not over her sickness but not getting any worse.
Dad seem ok but frustrated.
He bought a new tv and dvd player from Mums room.
Put a dvd on the other day and it's now not working.
Took it back to the shop and because he's had it over 30 days, it has to be sent away for repairs.
So now he has no dvd player for at least 28 days.

Also, his internet has stopped working. Dad has no idea about computers, just how to turn it on and browse. But he says it's not connecting to the internt anymore.
It stuffed up before and he paid someone $60 to fix it.
They got it working and now its stuffed again.
He's on tpg dialup.

Ive told him that when i come up next i will get rid of tpg for him and get him on a cheap broadband plan.

TPG is normally a good mob and have customer service.

One of the best around for dialup is Beaglenet and they are fantasic for support and do offer seniors discounts for both dialup and BB.
