Freddie - whatever size you choose (whichever chooses you would probably be more accurate) what a wonderful additional to your family he/she will be.
My friend with the miniature lives in a really tiny house with a small back yard and, having seen the size of your home, there is not much difference in size really. Given you like walking, a miniature would be suitable for you but I have to be careful that my preference for larger dogs is not colouring my opinion and recommendation to you.
Don't let the thought of clipping and grooming put you off either. You can choose to have a kennel clip or a lamb clip and will soon learn to do those yourself if you want to.

My daughter has a toy poodle, Jessie is gorgeous! black and tiny. I suggest get one from a good breeder, someone who is happy to go the extra mile as far as health checks go, they have a few issues, patella luxation is a common one. Jess is quite old now and going grey!

No matter how many health checks breeders do, a dog can still have health probs, that why I suggested getting one that is past the puppy stage and has been throughly health checked.
One of my GSD's is from a top NSW breeder, his parents have excellent hip scores and he has severe HD, these things rarely present themselves when they are pups. With GSD's you can't have them x rayed/scored until they are at least 12 months old.

Good morning. ...overcast windy with a few showers presently. Odd dream last night, building a new house and some fool laid pink shag pile carpet and fitted off ths bathroom with floral tap ware.
Azure....as a young child I had a silver toy poodle. Snappy little thing she was. Loved her and was broken hearted when we had to leave her with friends when mum and dad made the movd from the UK. She was quite old when she eventually passed away.

Slow start to the day, I seem to be dragging my tail i've lost the get up and go.
Nothing planned here just going with the flow.
