After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

to get a piccie from a webpage, longhold on it and it should give you the option to save it. Or with a mouse, right click on it. Then save.
some photos are protected from being copied.
then in the post box, click on the symbol that is two to the right of the smilie ( that looks like the moon over a mountain range).
That will let you insert an image. Then you choose from your photo gallery, the piccie you just saved from the webpage. With choose image.
you can post it in different sizes, too. Above is full size. That is normally too big, mostly medium is good for photos.
If you cannot see the full options above your post box, in Safari you click on the browser bar ( ๐ ) then drag down the screen just below it. Thus gives you the option to request desktop site. Click on that.
that gives you the options shown above. Then make sure your text box is in rich text. It should be, but that is a tab on the left top if it isn't.
That is where you can request desktop site for any webpage.
to get there, click on the browser bar text 'til it is highlighted, then drag down the window below it to show add to favorites and request desktop site. On Safari on an iPad or iPhone.
For the image, you choose file, can hide it (private), then when it has loaded, hit the insert image button. That takes you back to the posting box.
a private piccie is stored in your gallery in your profile here, but can only be seen by you in that gallery. If you leave the private box unticked, it will go into a public folder. So if you have posted an image here before, you can get it "from my gallery" to use again, the rsb at the top. The default is to "add image" from your iPad's library/gallery ๐
